The people of the world today cannot seem to live without the internet. The more the internet becomes popular the harder the challenge will be for internet security. Being online is not as rewarding as it once was and each and every day more and more pollutants are being created that seems to be adding to the problem. One of the most malicious and notorious pollutants on the internet today is the virus. These are codes that live in your computer and wreak havoc just by simply opening your email or if you log into a certain site. Worms are yet another type of pollutants that has the ability to destroy your system without any action on your part. They will usually act on your systems existing weaknesses. This is the reasons why many of these systems come with a variety of patches that you can use to fix this weakness. Trojans are yet another type of code that will wreak havoc on your system. These are code that pretend to do one thing but in actuality they are designed for other things.

Besides all of the malicious codes that are available on the net there are also scams and phishing. These both begin with innocent looking emails that supposedly come from companies that are asking for your personal and banking information. If you are properly informed you may very well end up giving this valuable information to a hacker. There is software that you can purchase that will help you rid yourself of these spamful emails. These can also contain viruses that as above will wreak havoc throughout your computer.

You can never be too sure when it comes to the cons of the internet who have become experts in their field. As a result you need protection in order to prevent becoming their next victim. You need to be sure to have the proper antivirus and spyware programs installed along with a good firewall. The more you do to protect yourself the safer your computer will be.
